Shrimp Scampi Recipe- my way!

I’ll start by saying that the use of Cavatappi pasta or Riesling is not the norm for Shrimp Scampi but like I said this recipe is my way and in my opinion, really delicious. 😉 You can always adjust the amount of red pepper flakes but this recipe has a good kick to it but it’s not super hot.

Alright, ready? Here we go..

Ingredients: (4 servings)

1-1.25 lb of large shrimp

(peeled and deveined)

3/4 lb Cavatappi Pasta

1 cup Riesling

1 tbspn olive oil

1 tbspn minced garlic

1/2 tbspn red pepper flakes

4 tbspns salted butter

2 lemons

salt/pepper (to taste)


-In a med/large saute pan heat up olive oil over medium heat

-Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes and let warm up for a minute

-add 2 tbspns butter and let it melt and mix with garlic and red pepper

-add shrimp

-cook shrimp for 1 minute on each side

-add Riesling

Allow wine to cook with all the ingredients for 3-5 minutes until it reduces

-add remaining 2 tbspns of butter and 1 fresh squeezed lemon

-add salt and pepper to taste

-In a large pot mix the cooked Cavatappi pasta and Shrimp Scampi together making sure the pasta is evenly coated

-Serve in large dinner bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and lemon
